CECA President's Message

Ryan Wilson
A Message from President - Ryan Wilson

As your newly elected President for the next two years, I want to take this opportunity to thank the Board of Directors and the members of the Canadian Elevator Contractors Association for your support.

As part of any transition, the importance of learning from those who have gone before you is absolutely critical and I am very fortunate to have such a passionate CECA advocate as Joseph Kerr, as our Past President.   Joe has worked for countless hours on many industry committees and technical advisory councils throughout the country over the last 15 years.  He has played an integral role in strengthening CECA’s position as the voice of the elevator industry in Canada.  On behalf of CECA, I would like to thank Joe, for his time, commitment and passion for the elevator industry.  We sincerely hope we can continue to rely upon his support and technical guidance in the years ahead.

I firmly believe that in order for our association to remain strong, vibrant, and most importantly to continue to increase our presence within the halls of government and the regulatory agencies, it is essential that we continue to work together as a collective voice when representing our very unique and close knit industry. In order to accomplish this goal, it is vital that all members get involved, and convey your respective opinions with not only ideas, but also ways in which these ideas can be implemented and brought into practice.

The resilience of our industry will come from continuous open professional communication amongst our industry leaders taking advantage of all of our collective strengths and knowledge. Together we can do great things to make our industry stronger and safer for both our employees and the public, while at the same time more profitable for all.

For those of us who have chosen to build their respective careers in one of the best “hidden secrets” in our economy, it is well known that if you can survive the first 5 years in this business, you are most likely addicted, and will never leave it. With that given norm, we should all remain committed to work together and continue to make our industry and association even better than it is today!

I look forward to working with you all in the years to come.

Sincerely,

Ryan Wilson
C.E.C.A. President
